Starting July 1, 2025, the Australian Government is offering a 30% rebate on the purchase and installation cost of home batteries. This means if you install a solar battery like the Sungrow SBH100 (a 10kWh battery), you can claim back 30% of the total cost.
Let’s say Sally or Sam installs a Sungrow SBH100 10kWh battery.
• Battery cost: $9,500
• Rebate (30%): $3,400
• Final cost after rebate: $6,100
That’s $3,400 saved instantly thanks to the federal rebate.
Keep in mind:
To install a battery, you’ll need a hybrid inverter or a battery that has an inverter already built into it which are usually more expensive due to the more technology built-in. It is something to consider when planning ahead for a battery.
