The business may not want to outlay the upfront cost to design, maintain and install a solar system. So we make an agreement called a PPA “power purchase agreement” in which however much energy is created from the system will be sold to you at a fixed rate typically 25% cheaper than your currently buying from the grid right now!
Once we look at your energy statement, we can understand how much your business uses and if the solar system will generate enough power to power you throughout the day. We will agree upon a fixed price per kWh and a duration of up to 3 years. Once you are powered by solar, the amount of energy you use will be charged to you monthly.
Company ABC is a factory in Botany NSW, they use roughly 110,000kwh per year. They buy their energy off the Grid at $0.33 per kWh = $36,300 per year. Option 2: Company ABC agree’s on a PPA of 25% cheaper the grid price for 3 years. The solar system will power all of your energy needs. The new cost is 110,000kwh at $0.25c = $27,500 per year. This instantly reduces your cost by $8,800 per year, over the 3 year period you will save at least $26,400.
